Wagah-Attari Border
The Attari-Wagah border, where the Beating Retreat ceremony is held every day, soldiers from both nations participate in the ceremony that sees the flags of both countries lowered at sunset after a display of energy and power unique only to this border function. The best time to witness this is obviously the evening.
Anandpur Sahib
In Anandpur Sahib Guru Gobind Singh had established his domain tied to the origin of the Khalsa. Along with multiple gurdwaras, there’s the Virasat-e-Khalsa museum too that displays the history of Punjab.

Patiala
Another gem from Punjab, this erstwhile royal seat of the Patiala state is home to the Qila Mubarak, one of the largest forts in North India, and the Sheesh Mahal (palace) of mosaic and paintings. Patiala offers another facet of Punjab one of grandeur and extravagance of the royal family. The markets here are still famous for the Patiala salwar and juttis giving the visitor an insight into some of Punjab’s most famous handicrafts.
